I Will Wait For You – Ukulele Chord Solo (Umbrellas of Cherbourg)
Me playing a ukulele chord solo of “I Will Wait For You”. The song is from the musical film “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg”, but I – being the uncultivated ignoramus that I am – didn’t know it from the film, but from the Futurama episode about Fry’s dog Seymour. The chord solo that I am playing is arranged by Lyle Ritz. I made the backing tracks with Band-in-a-Box and I am wearing my best T-shirt. And my right arm isn’t as hairy as it looks in the video, trust me. As always, video and music are a bit out of sync. Is it really so hard to manufacture machines that all run at the same speed? The uke is, as always in my videos, recorded in one take (not ’cause I’m a purist but because I don’t really know how punch-in recording works). I subsequently mastered the audio (normalizing the recording and adding a bit of reverb). And for the tech nerds (like me) out there: I play a Ortega RU11 concert ukulele with Ko’olau strings. I hope you like the song, and you may even want to check out my other videos on youtube.com/iwaswhisk.

Cool! I like it, great swing and interpretation !
@uke5417 Thanks, this means a lot!
Amazing. You need to take the “worse” bit off your channel, as I can count on my fingers the YT uke players as good as you are.
Chapeau! würde jetzt jemand aus Cherbourg sagen
I really like your cover! It’s great!
